Temic DQ500 MQB TCUs equip some of the most high-performance applications of the VAG Group, including 2.0 TSI/TFSI, TDI, BiTDI and 2.5 TFSI engines. With this ECM Titanium Driver update, professionals can work in a more structured way on the management strategies of the DQ500 DSG transmission, improving the consistency between engine response, transmission behavior and driving experience.
Here too, the map organization follows a logic designed for real-world use: each function is structured to make it easier to identify the areas of intervention and support professionals in calibrating the DSG transmission according to the vehicle’s needs.
TCUs targeted by this development
Why does this update make a difference?
The new functions allow direct intervention on:
Sail mode deactivation: The Driver includes dedicated maps for managing “sailing” mode, a function that on many VAG applications can remain active in Drive. By deactivating it, the vehicle’s behavior becomes more continuous, predictable and linear, especially in urban driving.
Shift points in manual mode: The dedicated maps allow management of auto-upshift, a function that automatically engages the next gear even in manual mode. By working on these parameters, it is possible to maintain control of the selected gear, especially on tuned engines or engines with a modified rev limiter.
Launch Control: The Driver provides specific maps for managing DQ500 Launch Control, including those related to brake pressure for activation and release. By reducing the required pressure value, activation becomes more immediate and better suited to specific usage needs.
Kickdown Switch: This map allows management of kickdown deactivation in manual mode, avoiding downshifting and consequently improving transmission control.

The new Drivers are available in ECM Titanium and allow the main DSG transmission management strategies to be identified quickly. Thanks to a clear and consistent structure, work on Temic DQ500 MQB TCUs becomes faster, more organized and aligned with the operational needs of professionals: shift management, manual mode control, Launch Control adjustment and optimization of DSG transmission behavior to ensure a response that is more consistent with the vehicle’s engine configuration.
